Oudtshoorn, 16 October 2018 – The executive mayor, Colan Sylvester, handed over a cheque of R15 000 to Real Simzee Brand Events on behalf of Oudtshoorn Municipality and council for the Oudtshoorn Spring Festival. This event will take place this coming Saturday, 20 October 2018.
Justine Siyanda Masiba of locally based Real Simze Brand Events will host the 4th Oudtshoorn Spring Festival at the Bongolethu Stadium. The main attraction is the Distruction Boyz, a Gqom (Gqom is a style of mosono music that emerged a decade into the 21st century). This style features wavy and bass beats produced with software such as FL Studio, and has gained prominence in London. Distruction Boyz consists of recording artists and record producers Thobani “Que” Mgobhozi and Zipho “Goldmax” Mthembu. Their Debut album Gqom was certified gold by RISA making it the first Gqom album to ever achieve this status.
The event will also feature various artists like Ndozman, DJ Sisow, DJ Nitro, DJ Slide, Freshman, Naugthy Chillie Bites, Ol’ Stars and of course Justine Masiba himself will also perform on stage.
According to Masiba, at least 30 job opportunities will be given to the local community and stall vendors can also sell their products at this event. Gates will open from 12h00 and tickets are available at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers.
