Glen Roses Cricket Club will be based in Avontuur on Saturday become the 31st affiliate member of SWD Cricket when the Members’ Council of SWD Cricket approved the club’s application for affiliation.
It is a rural area between Haarlem en Uniondale and part of George Municipality in the Eden district. Four primary schools (Avontuur, Dirk Boshoff and Haarlem) and two High schools (Uniondale High and Haarlem Secondary) are the public schools that will feed the club.
The primary schools also participate in the KFC program. Two of the high schools are currently participating in the SWD Schools T20 Competition as well as the promotion league. Uniondale High also participates in the Girls U18 league. Uniondale High and Haarlem also participate in the rregionalU11 and U13 leagues.
