South Western Districts Cricket will host the annual Cricket South Africa Academies tournament for Southern Provinces that will take place in Oudtshoorn next week.
Six academy teams – Boland Academy, Border Academy, Eastern Province Academy, Western Province Academy, South Western Districts Academy and the CSA Fort Hare Rural Academy will participate in this event. This event is an important program as part of the Cricket South Africa development pipeline and is also an important feeding source for future professional cricket players. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the teams will play matches in the fifty over format whilst the tournament will be concluded with each team playing two Twenty20 matches on Thursday.
