Violence breaks out at ANC meeting

anc logoCAPE TOWN – Four people including a journalist has been arrested for causing havoc at an ANC meeting in Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo.

ANC provincial leaders met to discuss ongoing problems at the local municipality, but the meeting got out of hand when disagreements arose on Tuesday.

A group allegedly set some items alight, broke windows and bashed in doors.

The police had to intervene and an officer was injured.

The police’s brigadier Puti Sepati says, “Three people and a journalist were arrested. They will be appearing in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates Court on Thursday.”
