The Gary Player Golf Day, held recently in Plett, was a smash hit for the benefit of the Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association (PBCPA) with Gary Player offering both a golf clinic and an auction including tremendous golf-themed memorabilia.
He manned the Plett Tourism hole, chatting to golfers and offering to hit for R100 a swing. Plett’s weather provided a perfect backdrop to a golfing day at Goose Valley Golf Course, designed by Player himself.
Just two days before the event, social media was abuzz with posts from award-winning Irish artist, Ronan Keating, visiting Plett with his wife, Storm, and young son. Keating posted a picture of Storm and their son enjoying the sand and sunshine on Robberg Beach with the caption: “Oh Plett you beaut. Already been a crazy busy year and still a bit to go. Before the madness of Christmas and the new album next year I needed some serious R&R and no finer place than #PlettenbergBay with these two Rascals”.
It seems that Ronan and Storm are golfers too, as the very next day they posted the video below at Goose Valley, playing with none other than Gary Player himself!
