One of the highlights on the upcoming Mossel Bay Soul Festival schedule, the Café Gannet Festival of Wine is bringing farms from all over the Western Cape to Mossel Bay.
Wine lovers will be spoiled for choice with the exciting line up of wines that can be sampled, and purchased, over the course of the two-day event.
Participating farms are Arendsig, Diemersfontein, Doolhof, Fairview, Fledge & Co, Groote Post, Lozärn, MAN Wines, Môreson, Lievland, Ormonde and Weltevrede. Gin enthusiasts also have Six Dogs Gins to look forward to and there will be craft beer from Wild Clover.
The format of the event will be relaxed – spanning the full interior and grounds of the Café Gannet, Blue Oyster Bar, adjacent garden and the Ochre Function Venue.
Food can be purchased from informal food stalls, and items on offer will include ploughman’s platters, sushi, gourmet burgers, artisanal pizzas and much more.
There will be live entertainment during the event including the talented local artists Jaco & Guston, Janine Fourie, Shaza, Tanya Storm, Kallie Landman and Brighitte Deister.
There will also be a mirror photo booth for fun souvenirs with friends, stalls to purchase local Mossel Bay novelties or cheese platters – made from recycled wine bottles.
Wines, gins and beers will be on sale at cellar door, distillery and brewery prices, offering the opportunity for plentiful purchases without the worry of not having space for your luggage on the way back home after a weekend in the winelands.
Tickets are R100 per person per day, which includes a tasting glass and mineral water.
Children under 18 enter free and will not receive a tasting glass or mineral water. Jumping castle will be available but is weather dependent Tickets are limited, therefore advance purchase is recommended to avoid disappointment. Tickets are available for purchase at the restaurant.
