At the heart of CANSA Relay For Life is the opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, to remember those who have left us and create awareness about cancer.Covid-19 has meant that the annual event, as we all know and love it cannot take place this year. But that does not mean you cannot participate – get active and challenge yourself, your neighbours, your community. Exercise in your own space, wherever you feel safe on your own or in a group!
Executive Mayor for George Leon Van Wyk said “ the idea for a virtual challenge such as this ties in to the economic recovery phase the Western Cape and George is currently undergoing during the Covid-19 pandemic, aside from facilitating job creation and safety, the health and well-being of our George residents is high priority. The CANSA Virtual Challenge allows everyone to participate, at their own pace, in their own space. We encourage you to take part, help with our fundraising efforts for CANSA and at the same time enjoy your surroundings, get some exercise and fresh air, all vital to your well-being and mental health during these challenging times.”
