The GO GEORGE bus service will be rerouting several routes to accommodate construction work in Market Street near the intersection with York Street this Sunday, 20 September 2020, between 07:00 and 15:00.
All the routes into town from Pacaltsdorp (Route 1A, 1B, 60 and 60), Route 2 Blanco-CBD (direction towards Blanco), Route 53 Rosemoor-CBD, and Route 56 Denneoord-CBD (both directions) will be impacted.
Pacaltsdorp routes
The Pacaltsdorp routes into town will use the normal route, but going back to Pacaltsdorp, the buses will depart from the Mispel stops and turn left into Cradock Street, right into Victoria Street and left into York Street. Passengers normally using bus stop Market 554 in front of the Old Town Hall in York Street, are advised to use the Mispel stops near the Transport Hub or any other convenient stop.
Denneoord route
The forward route 56 that travels along Market Street when departing from the Hub, will take the same divergence as the Pacaltsdorp routes along Cradock and Victoria Streets, but will turn right into York Street to proceed on the normal route.
The reverse route that normally turns into Market Street from York Street towards the Transport Hub, will take an earlier turn into Hibernia Street.
Passengers normally using bus stop York C 866B opposite the Protea Pharmacy in Market Street, are advised to use an alternative stop.
Blanco route
Route 2 towards Blanco from the CBD will also travel along Victoria Street to York Street, turn right and proceed on the normal route to Blanco.
Rosemoor
Route 53, travelling towards the Transport Hub, will turn left into Hibernia Street from York Street, right into Meade Street, left into Market Street and then to the Hub.
Passengers normally using bus stop York C 866A next to the Protea Pharmacy in Market Street are advised to use an alternative stop.
GO GEORGE apologises for the inconvenience and appeals to road users to be patient and exercise caution near roadworks and bus stops.

Die Pacaltsdorp-roetes in dorp toe sal die normale roete gebruik, maar met die terugrit na Pacaltsdorp sal die busse vanaf die Mispel-bushaltes vertrek en links draai in Cradockstraat, regs in Victoriastraat en links in Yorkstraat. Passasiers wat normaalweg die bushalte Market 554 voor die Ou Stadsaal in Yorkstraat gebruik, word dus aangeraai om die Mispel-haltes naby die Vervoerkern (Hub) of enige ander gerieflike halte te gebruik.
Denneoord-roete
Roete 56F wat in Markstraat ry wanneer die bus uit die middedorp vertrek, sal dieselfde ompad neem as die Pacaltsdorp-roetes langs Cradock- en Victoriastraat, maar sal regs draai in Yorkstraat om op die normale roete voort te gaan.
Die omgekeerde roete wat normaalweg uit Yorkstraat in Markstraat afdraai in die rigting van die Vervoerkern, sal vroeër reeds afdraai in Hiberniastraat.
Passasiers wat normaalweg die York C 866B-bushalte oorkant die Protea-apteek in Markstraat gebruik, word dus aangeraai om ‘n alternatiewe halte te gebruik.
Blanco-roete
Roete 2 na Blanco vanaf die middedorp sal ook langs Victoriastraat na Yorkstraat ry, regs draai en op die normale roete na Blanco ry.
Rosemoor-roete
Roete 53 sal op pad na die Vervoerkern links afdraai in Hiberniastraat vanaf Yorkstraat, regs in Meadestraat, links in Markstraat en dan na die Vervoerkern ry.
Passasiers wat gewoonlik die York C 866A-halte langs die Protea-apteek in Markstraat gebruik, word aangeraai om ‘n alternatiewe bushalte te gebruik.
