Torpedo SwimRun – the countdown to Wild

Torpedo Wild is a beautiful race, with a wild reputation, thanks in most part to the Kaaimans. Jacobus Pool and other Inaugural Wild finishers had this to say of the swamble:

“The challenge (of the Kaaimans) in itself was a deeply personal one for me…”

The race is based at Ebb and Flow Wilderness, one of South African National Parks’ more idyllic campsites. If your interest is piqued, read the articles below to learn more about the race format, the wide array of terrain covered and to meet the athletes aspiring to win.

Join the gees and camp
Torpedo has exclusively booked out the North campsite at Ebb and Flow Wilderness. This is a change from last year at the South camp, and one that we are very excited about, positioning us further upriver and secluded.

Race entry includes campsites for the participants and their family/friends – so be a good South African and load up your Coleman, tent, camping chairs and braai tongs and join us for both the Friday and Saturday nights. The campsite offers power, toilets, lighting, and lush grass down to the Touws Riverbank. Note: to access the power, you need to bring along a caravan plug

Food trucks will be open all day and the Cape Brewing Company will have ice-cold beer for sale.

Bands on both nights and celebration spit-braai on Saturday night
On Friday night – our good friend and sponsor SND Productions have booked local Garden Route band Rhino and Rasta. We also have an outdoor screen and movie.

On Saturday lamb-on-the-spit is included for all participants and Rebel Remedy followed by a DJ will be playing. Prizegiving will be during this evening celebration.

To sum up succinctly, it’s going to be lekker!!

A battle of the Sports in both the Men’s and Women’s races
