Postdoctoral Research on Marine Protected Areas along the Southern Cape

Job Description
An opportunity exists for a postdoctoral researcher to join a research team at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University studying biodiversity issues associated with Marine Protected Areas along South Africa’s Garden Rout in the Southern Cape. Running costs for research broadly dealing with the effectiveness of the current MPA network in terms of cetacean and reef fish biodiversity conservation is available. The selected candidate would have to apply in conjunction with the PI for recently advertised fellowships. These are free-standing fellowships and applications are submitted by prospective postdoctoral researchers.

The candidate would ideally have good marine based field skills, a strong publication record, obtained a PhD within the past 5 years (or finishing off a PhD), and be willing to assist with supervision of postgraduate students.
