CAPE TOWN – Southern Cape police on Sunday said a three-year-old Thembalethu boy, who had been missing for a week, may have drowned.
Simoxolile Linoga’s body was found near a disused mine outside George on Thursday.
Detectives have been looking for a man in connection with the boy’s disappearance.
The police’s Bernadine Steyn said officials however do not suspect any foul play at this stage.
“Follow up investigation confirmed the boy went swimming with his friends during which he disappeared under the water. An autopsy will be conducted this week to determine the cause of death.”
