CAPE TOWN – Eyewitness News can confirm that the body of a three-year-old boy was found in George on Thursday.
Simoxolile Linoga disappeared in Thembalethu a week ago.
The little boy’s body was removed from the scene by forensic services.
Residents of Zone 5 watched as pathologist carried a stretcher up a hill with Linoga’s body.
His mother, Beverley, was in tears as residents led her away from the scene.
Family members said they found the body on Thursday morning next to a disused mine.
The boy’s uncle said they were in shock, saying that nothing like this had happened before in the 10 years that he lived in Thembalethu.
The identity of his killer remains a mystery.
