Crime Line and DataDot are having a panel discussion, focused on crime in and around the Garden Route area on the 28th of March 2012 at Fancourt, George at 2pm. Our panel includes Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, General Arno Lamoer; Vidonia George of the George Municipality; Jonathan Gelderbloem, representing the Community Policing Forum and Brenda Pienaar from the SA National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (SANCA) in the Southern Cape.
The panel discussion will be facilitated by KFM presenter, Aiden Thomas, who will also be doing a Outside Broadcast (OB) in the George area on the morning of the 28th ahead of the panel discussion.
Members of the community, NGOs and schools have been invited to attend. A Q&A session will allow for them to raise questions with authorities on problem areas and sustainable ways to curb crime in the area.
The new SHOUT song and video will also be showcased during the event. Crime Line has a close partnership with SHOUT for a safer South Africa. The new song “You’re the Voice” is the brainchild of artists’ Danny K and Kabelo Mabalane together with SA’s leading musicians and artists. All proceeds of the song go towards fighting and preventing crime.
There are still some seats available to the panel discussion. There is no cover charge. Those who are interested to attend can contact Crime Line on 011 506 3074 or e-mail MarisaO@primedia.co.za
