On 8 November 2014 the PGA of South Africa’s first Par 3 Tournament will be held at the Sedge Links golf course near the village of Sedgefield on the Garden Route.
In recent years the US PGA and British PGA have staged Par 3 Tournaments on courses similar to Sedge Links with great success. Par 3 courses lay emphasis on accuracy and deft touch rather than the booming drives that have become so synonymous with the Pro Golf Tours of today.
Once again Pam Golding Properties has stepped up to support the game of golf and contribute to the planning and financial requirements that are necessary for such an event to be a success. As admission will be free, the organisers are preparing for large crowds and initial indications are that fans will travel from far and wide to attend the tournament. A unique aspect is that the course layout will enable fans to have a close-up view of the amazing skills of the professionals.
The Tournament will have a field of 12 professional golfers including John Bland, Titch Moore, Roger Wessels and Jake Redman.
Pam Golding Properties (PGP) is proud to be an ambassador for the region and the event will showcase this part of the Garden Route. The Tournament organisers and Sedge Links Club members express thanks to PGP for their invaluable contribution to the game of golf and the entertainment which will be provided to the public.
