Two men who pinned Anne Robb (79) down in her bed, then stabbed her more than 20 times in Sedgefield, have been returned to custody, says a Weekend Argus report.
It notes the bail granted earlier to Simeon Nel (21) and Rudolph Windwaai (19) was revoked by Knysna Regional Court Magistrate Herman Buhr after the two pleaded guilty to housebreaking with intent to rob, and robbery with aggravating circumstances. The two admitted to breaking into Robb’s home, along with an under-age youth who has since turned state witness. They admitted stabbing the elderly woman with knives they found on the kitchen counter. ‘We went into her room and saw her asleep. I found a safe key and she woke up while we were looking for the safe. She cried for help and we stabbed her,’ Nel said in his plea explanation. Windwaai admitted that he stabbed Robb while Nel held a pillow over her face.
