Plett rider and Kwano Cycling Academy team member Siphe Ncapayi has earned an invitation to the upcoming London to Paris Race, which takes place 25 – 28 July 2019.
During the recent Cape Rouleur ride, Siphe had the opportunity to compete against a field of local and international pro and elite riders. The event covers over 500km in four stages of across the Western Cape’s winelands. For mountain biker, Siphe, this was his first event on a road bike, and he exceeded all expectations! He contested every sprint and won ‘King of the Mountains’ with some stunning performances. His tenacity and passion earned him a fully sponsored trip to the UK in July, to train, and an entry into the London to Paris race, organised by HotChillee. Siphe is a tremendous role model, on and off the bike, and a superb ambassador for the talent that we have on the Garden Route.
Siphe said in a Facebook post: “I wanna take this opportunity to thank hotchillee for giving me the best opportunity in my entire life, and also thanks to my supporters, Colin Shave and Ian Martin for pushing me over my limits on being a better cyclist. I don’t have the words to explain my gratitude. Thanks to Kwano Cycling Academy and the Buffalo Foundation for all your help. I promise to try my best. Once again thank you everyone for your support.”
Wishing you the best of luck with everything, Siphe, and a wonderful adventure too!
