NSRI Plett assist hiker

Marc Rodgers, NSRI Plettenberg Bay station commander, said:

At 13h43, Wednesday, 14th November, NSRI Plettenberg Bay duty crew were activated following reports of a female hiker injured on the Robberg Nature Reserve hiking trail.

The sea rescue craft Leonard Smith was launched and an NSRI medical and rescue crew hiked to the scene where SA National Park rangers were already in attendance at a female hiker, from Germany, who appears to have suffered a twisted ankle while hiking and was not able to walk back to the car park.

Our NSRI sea rescue craft beached and the lady was assisted to the sea rescue craft and brought safely to our NSRI Plettenberg Bay sea rescue station and no further assistance was required.
