Last year an amount of R10 million was budgeted for replacing the tartan surface which would have been enough to do 3&nbsp;000 square metres. Thanks to good planning and excellent cooperation among the different contractors a total of 3&nbsp;500 square metres can be replaced.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-8301\" src=\"http:\/\/thegremlin.co.za\/oudtshoorn-news\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC_2067-1-810x540.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"540\" srcset=\"http:\/\/thegremlin.co.za\/oudtshoorn-news\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC_2067-1-810x540.jpg 810w, http:\/\/thegremlin.co.za\/oudtshoorn-news\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC_2067-1-400x267.jpg 400w, http:\/\/thegremlin.co.za\/oudtshoorn-news\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC_2067-1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/thegremlin.co.za\/oudtshoorn-news\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC_2067-1-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Areas prioritised for replacement are two inner lanes, the 100m home stretch and the first bend. Preparation work of the base has been completed and it is expected that the laying of the tartan surface will start next week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With the completion of the current work, the whole track will be in full use.
