Oudtshoorn, 15 May 2018 – A top South African artist, DJ Tira, whose real name is Mthokozi Khathi, has confirmed his attendance as the main artist at the much awaited Oudtshoorn’s DJ Sisow’s birthday gig called, Sisow Birthday Celebration to be held in Oudtshoorn this coming Saturday, 19 May 2018.
DJ Tira, a record producer, a kwaito artist and founder of the popular record label, Afrotainment released a video on social media confirming his attendance to this show. This event is, according to the host, Sibusiso Appolis, a 24-year-old Oudtshoorn based Disc Jockey (DJ), dubbed by his followers, DJ Sisow, aimed at sponsoring school children at Fezekile Secondary School from an impoverished township of Bongolethu in Oudtshoorn, with uniform for winter.
“I’m traveling all over South Africa; and on the 19th of May 2018, I will be in Oudtshoorn at Bongolethu stadium; it will be the place to be; we’ll also be celebrating the birthday celebration of DJ Sisow,” said DJ Tira in his video that was released on social media. “Please buy your tickets, I’ll be there with my dancers, Amadada,” he added.
This is Appolis’s second birthday gig. Last year, he hosted DJ Zain SA who, again will be one of the main artists in the event. Zain SA is a South African music producer, vocalist, DJ, and radio presenter who was first discovered on the SABC’s 1’s and 2’s DJ competition.
The show will amongst others feature Kingjade & Babyjoe from Port Elizabeth, Lelo Cue Rooted Brothers from Mossel Bay, 24 Tones from George, DJ Mjlo & Jerry from Plettenberg Bay and Knysna and DJ Simzee from Oudtshoorn.
“This is going to be a fulfilled music festival, but also a platform to expose local talent for recognition,” said Appolis, the host and the owner of his newly established MSA Marketing and Event PTY (LTD). “I want my birthday to be meaningful and add value in the community by supporting socio-economic needs in the community; a certain amount of percentage of the tickets sales will be steered towards this cause,” he added.
Appolis says that this event would not only give local upcoming artists a platform to showcase their talents, but also will be rewarding them for their talents, since most of the DJ’s are reliant on these kinds of gigs for living.
DJ Sisow has confirmed that the VIP tickets at computicket are sold out. “General ticket sales are still available but going fast.”
The event is aimed at attracting revelers from the Southern Cape, other regions of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape. The birthday celebration event is also set to boost local businesses; Oudtshoorn as a tourist destination offers a wide range of accommodation, visitors are encouraged to book accommodation as soon as possible.
“A Port Elizabeth based DSTV channel, Bay TV 260 will be there to capture every moment of this event,” Appolis concluded.
