Prost! Cheers! Gesundheit! Skal! Laat hy val waar hy wil! Eins, Zwei, Drei … and so it continues…
No matter how you preferred your beer, on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 October you can enjoy drafts and crafts at the first ATKV Beerfest at Na-Donker in Hartenbos.
The twist is the fact that the more than 11 suppliers that will be in attendance also includes a number of wine estates for the non-beer drinkers.
For the hard tac guys, the full Na-Donker bar is available and German style food, including a German breakfast, eisbein, sauerkraut, kartoffeln, spareribs, pretzels, schnitzels, bratwurst and bockwurst will be served by Koswerf.
The Skoffelskuur has been transferred into a huge entertainment area so no drop in temperature or gusts of wind will put a damper on the festivities.
Activities will commence daily at 10:00 and continues until pumpkin time. On Saturday at 20:00 the spontaneous Jakkie Louw will be in action. Octoberfest music will be played and the huge dance floor will be begging for you to produce your moves. In between some beer pong will also amuse the visitors.
The different suppliers that will be in attendance include Hoogeberg, Karoo Craft Breweries, Perdeberg, Stellenbosch Hills, Wellington Wines, Cederberg Breweries, Jakkalsvlei, Black Mountain. Eversons Ciders, SA Breweries and the KWV.
Good news is that a special license has been arranged and this allows you to take home a supply of your favourite wines.
Die German Smokehouse Deli (German butchery) will offer their delicious German sausages, salamis and cold meets.
The festival is only open to persons 18 and older. On Friday the tickets will be R50 which includes a free beer mug to keep and eight tasting tickets.
On Saturday admission is R75 and this includes admission to the Jakkie Louw show. The first 100 guests will once again receive a free beer mug.
