“DIE WAARHEID MAAK SEER is one of those songs that you have to listen to when you are in any relationship in which you have come to realise that the promises that were made to you and the chances you have given the other person, were in vain.
Unfortunately, there comes a time when sorry is just not good enough anymore,” SUNEL reveals about the meaning behind her third Afrikaans release, which has already been very well received.
According to the singer, her latest single can be described as a feel-good song with a strong message that will appeal to audiences of all ages. “Sometimes it is difficult to accept the truth about something or someone, because it is so painful. It is often hard to know where to draw the line and to decide when enough is enough and it is very easy to lose yourself in the process,” she explains. “Although it has to do with emotional exploitation, I do not portray it as a dark or sad song, but rather as a message of positive encouragement.”
DIE WAARHEID MAAK SEER follows shortly after the release of her debut album, Symptome, which is a mixture of eleven beautiful tracks, in various musical genres. Ten of the songs are fresh original creations from her own pen, some of which were produced in association with Hugo Ludik, Vaughan Gardiner and Darryl De Lange. Her striking rendition of Sonja Herholdt’s Ek Verlang Na Jou is also available on the album.

Hart se Wens, which is also available on her CD, was number one on SFM’s Top 30 hit parade for various weeks. The music video can currently be seen on kykNET.
