Assistance with tourists experiencing motion sickness

Andre Fraser, NSRI Port Elizabeth station commander, said: At 08h40, Wednesday, 09th January, NSRI Station 15 Mossel Bay duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from a commercial fishing boat to collect 4 tourists off the boat who were suffering motion sickness.

The sea rescue craft St Blaze Rescuer was launched and we rendezvoused with the fishing boat 9 nautical miles South West of Mossel Bay.

The 4 casualties, an adult female, a female aged 11 and a male aged 14, from Johannesburg and a male aged 12, from Oudtshoorn were rehydrated and transferred onto our sea rescue craft and brought to shore without incident and no further assistance was required.
