LANGEBAAN, 28 September 2015 – Martin Vorster, Marcus Smal, Christo Lamprecht and Jordan Duminy aim to give Louis Oosthuizen the best send-off to the 2015 Presidents Cup by lifting the Louis Oosthuizen SA Junior Club Team Championship title on Tuesday.

The quartet who hail from the 2010 Open champions’ Louis 57 Academy in the Southern Cape followed an opening 232 with a second round 228 to leapfrog early pacesetters Rondebosch and Modderfontein for pole position at Langebaan Golf and Sports Club.

Vorster led the way with successive rounds of 74.

Smal and Lamprecht contributed respective rounds of 78 and 80 in round one, while Lamprecht shot 76 in the second round and Duminy signed for a 78.

The leaders are two strokes clear of Rondebosch and eight strokes ahead of Modderfontein, who need a great final round comeback to seal a hat-trick of victories in the prestigious junior club team championship.

Alistair Snowdon carded rounds of 75 and 72, while South African Golf Development Board (SAGDB) members Abduragmaan Adams, Craig Baba and Hilmi Mallick supported his efforts in the first and second rounds.

Adams returned a 76 and Baba a 77 to help Ronderbosch to a first round 228, while Baba and Mallick both registered 81s in round two for a total of 234.

Modderfontein’s Dylan Naidoo set the pace with 75 and 77, while fellow TuksSport Golf Academy member Marco Steyn returned an opening 75 and a second 78.

Eric Wowor contributed a 78 to give the team an opening total of 228 and rookie Guy Waterhouse added an 85 in round two to help the defending champions stay in touch with a total of 240.

Durbanville Golf Club finished in fourth and lag 21 strokes off the pace after rounds of 241 and 240.
