Knysna ward remains DA

by Bonginkosi Madikizela – DA Western Cape Provincial Leader: The Democratic Alliance in the Western Cape is encouraged to have retained ward 5 in yesterday’s by-election in Knysna and wishes to congratulate newly-elected ward councillor, Hilton Stroebel.

Ward 5 in Knysna and ward 95 in Khayelitsha became vacant after the May 2019 election, when the previous councillors were elected to the provincial and national parliament.

“We are humbled by the support we received in Knysna, despite the many challenges we are facing in that municipality. I believe that this win for the DA, shows that the majority of Knysna residents have faith in us and we must focus on addressing the challenges” said DA Western Cape Provincial Leader, Bonginkosi Madikizela.

Madikizela went on to say, “I wish to thank our campaign teams in Knysna and Khayelitsha for their hard work and dedication throughout these campaigns.”

The DA would like to thank the voters of Khayelitsha and Knysna who came out to vote for us. We will continue to work hard to build One South Africa for All.
