Anne Robb (81) has told how two robbers had pinned her down in her bed and stabbed her 23 times in the back with a panga, says a report in The Herald.
Testifying in the Knysna Magistrate’s Court to aggravating circumstances, Robb said she had been alone at home when Simeon Nel (21) and Rudolph Windwaai (19) attacked her in February 2010. The two pleaded guilty earlier to housebreaking with intent to rob and robbery with aggravating circumstances. In their plea explanation, the two admitted stealing goods worth about R126 000, half of which they packed into suitcases and hid in nearby bushes. They then returned for more valuable items, which they wanted to sell for drug money. The report notes the trial was postponed to 24 January.
