Junior City Council receives branded “hoodies”

During a recent bi-weekly meeting held by the Junior City Council attended by their Mayoral Representative and mentor Cllr Elizabeth Stroebel, the students were presented with branded hoodies.

The supply of the hoodies and the printing of the George Municipal logo was sponsored by Mr. Labuschagne of Mouth and Foot Painters, father of the JCC Deputy Mayor, Nikita Labuschagne.

The Junior City Council is involved in various community projects at their own cost and recently met with the Nelson Mandela Child Parliamentarians, accompanied by the Child Ambassador, Lonwabo Gade (15) from Mitchell’s Plain, Cape Town, and administration officials from the Western Cape Government’s Premier’s Office, and Social Development.

Since the inauguration of the children’s parliament in 2011, the parliament has been held annually, to celebrate Tata Madiba’s values and commitment to the children of South Africa by giving children a platform to discuss issues that affect them, according to Nelsonmandelachildrensfund.com
