Mayor welcomes visitors at ‘friendly’ roadblock

George Executive Mayor Melvin Naik and members of the Protection Services Directorate welcomed visitors to the Garden Route at the annual ‘friendly’ Executive Mayoral Roadblock in Witfontein Road on Friday, 14 December 2018.

Corporate Services Portfolio Councillor Jacqulique Von Brandis joined the welcoming party

The roadblock is an annual tradition in which holidaymakers are welcomed by the mayor and his staff on the first weekend of the summer school holidays and includes the distributing of a goody bags filled with handy summer gifts, the George Municipality newsletter and information brochures about tourism, water saving tips, and traffic safety.
