TransEnduro passes through George

The TransEnduro is a military tradition dating back to the 1980s in which students from the South African Military Academy run, cycle and sail from Port Elizabeth to the Military Academy in Saldanha.

TransEnduro Commander, Lieutenant Rayno Ruiters, handed over a letter of goodwill from Bitou Municipality, the academy’s previous stop, to George Deputy Executive Mayor Gerrit Pretorius before the event. The team will in turn hand over the George Municipality’s letter of goodwill to Mossel Bay, their next stop

The event is supported by student-based logistics and administration teams and is complemented by a strong community outreach programme and fundraising efforts in the towns they visit.
