Department of Water and Sanitation to launch a Clear Rivers Campaign in George

13 July 2017:  The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) in the Western Cape in collaboration with the BGCMA and the George Municipality will launch a Clear Rivers Campaign in George.

This campaign is closely associated with volunteer activities that are linked to Mandela Month. Linking this campaign to Mandela Month is in line with the call by the State President in the State of the Nation Address of 2014, when he called on all South Africans, in the spirit of volunteerism, to dedicate 67 minutes to clean up South Africa.

The planned activity will be at Schaapkop River which runs through Thembalethu and supports Thembalethu farmers with irrigation water.

Date: 14 July 2017

Venue: Schaapkop River, Thembalethu, George

Time: 11h00

For more information on the Clear Rivers Campaign visit www.dwa.gov.za/Clear-River2017.
