Surf Training in Wilderness

NSRI Station 23 Wilderness hosted rescue crew from Richards Bay, Shelly Beach, Gordons Bay and Simonstown over the weekend for Surf Training. Sea conditions started off testy on Saturday morning as the visitors became acquainted with what Wilderness surf conditions are like.

Overnight the sea really began to stand up in might, reminding everyone that respect and safety are paramount. Our most experienced coxswains took our visitors into the surf, one-by-one, to experience the incredible ability of the rescue craft and the humbling power of the sea. Everyone agreed it was an experience to learn from and remember.

Wilderness Sea Rescue wishes to thank our visitors for they receptive attitude and team spirit. Till next time…
