WESSA Eden thanks the Outeniqua Farmer’s Market for inviting us to have a stall there on Saturday, 14 December. Our topic was sustainability….and did we have some great exhibits!
Monica built a mobile “shack” out of cardboard to demonstrate how a large plastic bottle containing water and bleach illuminates the interior.
Roz served samples of her delicious savoury vegetarian rice which had been cooked in a Wonderbag whilst Annemarie demonstrated solar light alternatives.
The show stopper was definitely the Godfrey Garden Team (Chris, Graham and their 2 grandsons) who brought all the ingredients to plant a small glass tank with vegetable seedlings and a small worm farm. Anthonie Du Toit, lecturer at NMMU also joined us and gave advice and information on sustainable planting to the interested public that were drawn to our lively stall.
