Celebrating arbor week 2011 at NMMU George

NMMU George Campus staff Prof. Christo Fabricius (Campus Principal) (centre) and Martin Loubser (Director: Operations) joined by members of the university’s executive management from Port Elizabeth, Dr Sibongile Muthwa (Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Institutional Support), Gisela Kaiser (Executive Director: Operations) and Khaya Matiso (Dean of Students) planting a Broom Cluster Fig tree at the university’s campus at Saasveld in celebration of arbor week. This ceremony also illustrates the university’s commitment to the value of respect for the natural environment.

Joining the university’s staff members on the day were students of the newly established Green Campus Forum – a student driven organisation focussing on sustainability issues at the university’s George Campus.

The Green Campus Forum is representative of students from across all programmes offered at George Campus in both the School of Business & Social Sciences and School of Natural Resource Management.
