NMMU George hosts George Business Chamber at Saasveld

More than 130 guests gathered at the scenic George Campus of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University recently for the monthly networking session of the George Business Chamber.

Campus Principal, Prof Christo Fabricius gave a brief overview of the growth of the George campus and indicated that the university and education sector in the Garden Route in general is well positioned to fulfil a meaningful role in the development of talent needed for the job market, and the overall growth of the region.

He called for a strategic alliance or coalition between civil society, schools, academic institutions and the business community around a vision for the southern Cape of Education-driven Development. “If everyone worked together, Southern Cape could become the centre in Africa for quality education. The region is ideally positioned to achieve this”, he said.
